Can California public school teachers be made to come in for a one hour meeting on their day off?

The pay for this meeting will be included in the pay you receive for teaching summer school. This is pretty standard by the way. I have taught summer school in three states and all of them had a meeting for summer school teachers just prior to summer school beginning.
