Why does everyone hate liberals?

Just because they believe that gay marriage should be legal, marijuana should be legalized , woman should have the right to choose what they want to do to their bodies, and higher taxes should be implemented because we care about OTHERS not just ourselves, and are willing to pay for the benefit of the common good. Why does everyone call them "dirty hippies" when the hippies were the one's to stand up for what they believed in and create change? Why do conservatives base everything on their religious views, rather than allowing justice to prosper with everyone, and create change to replace the outdated views.
