If white racists are so smart and superior, why has everything gone downhill for them since the 1960s?

I like white people who are nice. But I oppose white racists. This question is not racist, but is directed at all those people who hate. I really want to know how they reconcile white superiority with their stark loss of power since the civil rights movement and overturning of segregation.
